After the recent big PowerBall jackpot win of R100 million, some South Africans have shared what they would do with the winnings.
The National Lottery shared polls earlier this month asking lottery players what they would do if they won the PowerBall jackpot. Find out the wishes shared by some of the players.
WHAT SOUTH AFRICANS WOULD DO IF THEY WON THE POWERBALL JACKPOT?
In a poll posted on the National Lottery X account on 24 January 2025, the public was asked what they would do if they won. They were given three options to choose from; Quit my job, Travel the world and Help family and friends.
About 48.3% of the voters said they would help family and friends. A total of 27.7% of them chose the option to travel the world while 23.9% said they would quit their job if they won.
In another poll on 17 January, they were asked one life-changing thing they would do if they won. The options were; Retire early, Start a new career path or Move abroad.
Those that would venture into a new career path were the most with 54.1%. Then 40% said they would retire early and 5.9% would move abroad.
PLAYERS REVEAL WHERE THEY BUY THEIR TICKETS
On 14 January, the National Lottery asked X users how they would purchase their tickets for the PowerBall. The options to choose from when voting in the poll were; In-store, Web/Mobile App and Banking App.
Players who use the banking app were 64.6%. Those buying tickets in-store were 23.2% while 12.2% voted for the web or mobile app.
