Orlando Pirates get GOOD NEWS on Monnapule Saleng!

Orlando Pirates trickster Monnapule Saleng hasn’t kicked a ball since November 5.

The club has put this down to ‘personal issues’, but many believe it’s due to the club’s resistance to selling the 26-year-old last year – Saleng had several European clubs, such as Monaco and Standard Liege, enquiring about his services.

While the dust hasn’t exactly settled on the matter, and there is no official statement explaining his two-month hiatus, Pirates fans will be delighted by the thought of Saleng playing in Soweto again.

And according to SoccerLaduma, a return is imminent:

“He is a Pirates player and like any player who is fit and ready he will always be available for selection. He will be back with the team soon to continue from where he left off with his contribution.”

Will he play in the Soweto derby?

Saleng delivered a masterclass in Orlando Pirates’ most recent clash with Kaizer Chiefs, netting a decisive double that secured a thrilling 3-2 victory for his side.

Now, with another Soweto Derby just days away, uncertainty looms over whether the Bafana star will make an appearance—a prospect that has Chiefs fans quietly hoping for his absence.

Mofokeng to North Africa?

“Wydad Athletic are in advanced negotiations with South African club Orlando Pirates over the potential signing of 20-year-old striker Relebohile Mofokeng according to Moroccan media,” SoccerLaduma reported.

“According to Moroccan publication Lesiteinfo Wydad have made a tempting financial offer to Pirates for the young forward, with the South African club reportedly leaning towards accepting the bid,

“Mofokeng, who is considered one of South Africa’s brightest rising stars, is said to be open to the prospect of working under his compatriot, Rulani Mokwena, at Wydad. However, while the offer from Wydad is enticing, a move at this stage seems unlikely.”
