Chiefs set to announce two deals

The previous week has been dominated by two deals for forwards reportedly agreed by Chiefs. The first of which being a swap deal that sees striker Tashreeq Morris join from SuperSport United. That will see DRC star Christian Saileleave to join the Pretoria outfit. The other deal was for DRC international winger Glody Lilepo.

Chiefs agreed terms with both Lilepo and his club Valenciennes FC and the deal is set to be announced imminently. Midfield is another area Amakhosi are trying to bolster. Earlier this week, it was reported that former target Thabo Celeis now available on a free transfer. Now according to Soccer-Laduma,  the club management are still targeting former target Jamie Webber from Sekhukhune United!

Webber interest reignited?

“Yes, it’s a different situation altogether now. This time around you know he is with Sekhukhune United under different circumstances and that’s why Chiefs have shown interest again. No, it’s not all the time about the coach. Sometimes it’s about the scouts and recruiters who notice and identify players for the team and it seems that’s the situation with Jamie (Webber). It’s believed that the club still believes he can contribute to the team. After all he just turned 27-years of age this month. He still has a SuperSport great future United ahead of him and he can do it at Chiefs,” said a source

Webber joined Sekhukhune on a free transfer from SuperSport a couple of seasons ago. He was linked to Chiefs before and during this period but a move never materialised. Amakhosi, do you feel as if now is the right time to bring him to the club? Or because he is a benchwarmer at his current club, he can’t be good enough?
