Orlando Piratesmidfielder Patrick ‘Tito’ Maswanganyicould leave the club for R40 million at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has been linked with Portuguese side UD Oliveirense for several months now. The club reportedly inquired about the playmaker last year but no offer was made.
According to Soccer Laduma, the Portuguese club has intensified their pursuit for Tito but Pirates want nothing less than R40 million for the Bafana Bafana midfielder.
“it’s no longer about an inquiry. It’s about negotiations now. They really want him back in Portugal. They are looking at the progress he had made and they are happy to bring him back to Portugal. it will all depend on what Pirates are looking at or if UD Oliveirense can afford what Pirates will be asking for Maswanganyi,” a source told Soccer Laduma.
Orlando Pirates put a R40 million price tag on their star
Tito signed with the Buccaneers last season where he enjoyed his debut season. He scored 12 goals and provided 10 assists in all competitions. This season, the Pirates star has struggled somewhat only adding just three goals to his name.
Having qualified for the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, the Sea Robbers have a chance to create history. Tito is yet to play find form this season but if he can get his mojo back, then Pirates have a good chance of winning the champions league and the Betway Premiership.
It remains to be seen if UD Oliveirense would want to pay R40 million to Orlando Pirates.
Should Pirates release Tito at the end of the season?
