Orlando Pirates have shown signs that they’re willing to lose star man Monnapule Saleng.
Saleng is yet to feature for the Buccaneers in 2025 after reportedly falling out with management.
The Buccaneers winger has crafted a massive legacy in just three years at the club.
Saleng made a total of 70 appearances for Orlando Pirates, scoring 25 goals while assisting 17 more, but is his time in Mayfair up?
Orlando Pirates want R15 million for Saleng?
According to the latest reports, the Buccaneers are willing to sell Monnapule Saleng if their valuation of around R15 million is met.
According to Transfermarkt, Saleng is worth much more than that. The 26-year-old Bafana Bafana star is valued at over R23 million.
“Saleng has also been accused of being a divisive figure with his punctuality in the weeks leading up to his return to the XI when they faced Al Ahly. However, he’s since returned to the stands and separate sources have stated that should clubs be interested, his price tag would be in excess of R15 million,” IDiski Times reported in their latest newspaper edition.
In other news, strong competition for places at Orlando Pirates could spell the temporary exit of a talented attacker.
The Buccaneers are challenging on all fronts this season, with some high profile signings expected to arrive this transfer window.
Despite a busy schedule, some players have struggled to earn game-time in Jose Riveiro’s star-studded team.
One such player is Congolese attacker Karim Kimvuidi, and now new reports suggest the club have decided to send him out on loan!
Pirates take decision on Kimvuidi
“It’s like this because they don’t want him to just sit on the bench or in the stands for a long time. He is still young and he needs to keep on playing and a loan move would give him that chance,” an insider told Soccer Laduma.
“No, I can’t say there is a team now but Orlando Pirates want to loan him out so that he gets more game-time.
“At the moment they wouldn’t want to sell him permanently. It’s just to give him more game-time. He has one and half years still on his contract and Orlando Pirates can’t just left him go like that.
“After all, you should know that he is still young and he has a great future ahead of him and that’s why they invested in him and the loan move would help him grow as a player.”
In other news, Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng is also reportedly attracting serious interest from Spanish giants Barcelona FC!
