Today’s Orlando Pirates news looks at the future of key operators including Saleng, Ndah and a Kaizer Chiefs target the Buccaneers want to sign. Fawaaz Basadien is also still on the menu.
Ndah returns to give Riveiro a glut of options
Tapelo Xoki has already returned to the first-team fray, making a couple of substitute appearances as he builds his way back to match sharpness. Fellow central defender Olisa Ndah is also nearing a return. The 26-year-old Nigerian has been out since September and will turn 27 on January 21st. Jose Riveiro’s Sea Robbers have been resolute at the back, with only three goals conceded in nine Caf outings and five shipped in 11 Betway Prem matches. According to SoccerLaduma, Ndah is nearing a return which can only help their defensive cause.
Where on earth is Monnapule Saleng?
Monnapule Saleng has been mysteriously absent from training and matchday squads in recent weeks. This has fuelled a media frenzy around what’s happening with the 26-year-old winger. ‘Private’ reasons have been cited by the club. Saleng has only appeared three times in the Betway Premiership this term, with a return of two goals.
Kwayiba to choose Kaizer Chiefs over Pirates?
According to SoccerLaduma, Kaizer Chiefs have expressed interest in signing Bafana and Chippa playmaker Sinoxolo Kwayiba. The 24-year-old is also a target for Orlando Pirates. Back at the tail-end of 2024, Jose Riveiro’s MTN8 winners were prepared to offer midfield duo Goodman Mosele and Siphelo Baloni as makeweights to sign Kwayiba. Now, it seems as though Chiefs have put together a similar format of offer. Who will he choose?
