Kaizer Chiefs could be on the verge of finally signing a striker according to the latest reports.

It is no secret that Chiefs are looking to bolster their attack in this coming window and may have a solution.Â

Chiefs searching for a striker

New coach Nasreddine Nabihas been crying out for a need to sign a quality and experienced striker. In the previous window, he was linked to his former trusted striker Fiston Mayele. There were even unconfirmed rumours that Chiefs made a R15 million bid for the player in that window. In the end, it was acknowledged by all parties that the deal would be difficult to push through. This because Pyramid FC were not willing to let go of their top goal scorer and asset after just one season.Â

There were then rumours that Chiefs would come back and test the resolve of Pyramids with a R20 million offer. Those seem to have died down with no mention of Mayele being a target for a while now. That may be due to Amakhosi finding an alternative target instead! Yesterday this publication reported that they’re targeting former Switzerland youth International Ruben del Campo

So far, Chiefs have been relying on Ranga Chivaviro and Ashley du Preez as their main source of goals. The duo have not been an overwhelming successes as again, like previous seasons have performed in flashes. For this reason, the club have identified a need for an experienced and proven talent that can score goals. Del Campo has mostly played in second tier football where ever he has gone. In the 154 games he has played throughout his senior and junior career, he has scored just 42 goals.Â

Is Del Campo the answer?

Here is a video that shows what Del Campo is capable of, from his previous club Ottawa Atletico in Canada.Â

Chiefs fans, with those stats do you think Del Campo is the one to improve your fortunes upfront? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.Â
