Kaizer Chiefs shining light set for new three-year deal reward!

Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be ready to offer a contract extension to one of their more promising talents.

Chiefs have not had the best of seasons as of yet but there have been one or two shining lights in the process.

Shabalala has been a positive for Chiefs

One of those being young playmaker Mduduzi Shabalala. The 20-year-old has looked lively on attack for Chiefs, even though the end product hasn’t always been there. He has looked to assist for his teammates or score for himself. So far this campaign, he has scored three goals in nine appearance, and is yet to provide an assist.

With that being said, however, it is believed that Chiefs are preparing to extend Shabalala’s deal for three more years. This according to Soccer-Laduma.

“The club (Chiefs) is making sure they keep almost all their valued youngsters because in the past they have lost some of them to rivals and that’s why they have offered Mdu (Shabalala) another three-year contract. You remember he signed a three-year contract in June 2022 until June 2025? And the one the club has tabled now will take his stay at Naturena until at least June 2028. That’s what the club is looking at,” said the source.

Club offer him new three-year deal?

A second source says the deal should go through smoothly as both Chiefs and Shabalala are on the same page.

“At the moment we can’t say it’s a done deal already. But he is a Kaizer Chiefs youth product and he loves to be at the club and that works well in the negotiations as both the club and player need each other. So it looks positive that before the end of the current season Mdu (Shabalala) would have put pen to paper on a new three-year contract,” said the second source to the same publication.
