However, there are also some imposing manmade super-tree structures located in these fascinating gardens.

SINGAPORE ATTRACTION IN JOHANNESBURG
Located in Eastgate, is a collection of the Singapore-style super-tree structures.
These structures are not just for show. They serve a purpose.
The super-trees not only create charming light but they also generate electricity.
At night, the super-trees light up, lending glimmering light to the piazza.
Colour is prominent throughout the mall, suggesting that life is more fun with a splash of colour.
A MASSIVE SOLAR POWER PLANT
However, it is not just these super-trees that generate energy at this Johannesburg shopping mall.
The Johannesburg retail centre is also home to South Africa’s largest registered rooftop solar installation.
The solar installation covers most of the available mall roof space, amounting to an area of approximately 28 100m².
In total, the mall has almost 13 675 solar panels, generating solar energy equating to 35.04% of the energy required to run its daily operations.
SINGAPORE-STYLE SUPER-TREES
The Gardens by the Bay is an urban park spanning 105 hectares in central Singapore.
These gardens were intended to be Singapore’s premier urban outdoor recreation space and one of the country’s national icons.
As well as the huge domed glass conservatories, the gardens feature 18 imposing tree-like structures.
In fact, the super-trees dominate the landscape with heights that range between 25 and 50 metres.
These super-tree structures are vertical gardens that perform a multitude of functions, including growing plants, providing shade and working as environmental engines for the gardens.
A SINGAPORE-STYLE EXPERIENCE
