Mamelodi Sundowns brought a new Portuguese in town to replace coach Manqoba Mngqithi.

MAMELODI SUDOWNS SACK MANQOBA MNGQITHI TO APPOINTMENT MIGUEL CARDOSO

While Sundowns are top of the Betway Premiership with seven wins out of eight, the CAF Champions League campaign has not started so well. Sundowns have delivered two draws against Union Maniema and Raja Casablanca.

“Mamelodi Sundowns today announced the appointment of Miguel De Azevedo Cardoso as the new Head Coach of the Club with immediate effect,” the club said on their website.

The 52-year-old Portuguese coach has three trophies:

  • 🏆 Ukranian League Title with Shakhtar Donetsk
  • 🏆Ukranian League Cup
  • 🏆Tunisian League Title with Esperance.

TS GALAXY BETTER THAN MAMELODI SUNDOWNS AND KAIZER CHIEFS

Rise and Shine opened the lead through Oswin Appollis on 17 minutes, before Mokibelo Ramabu bagged the three points on the 90th minute mark.

Speaking to the media after the game, coach Mohafe reflected on beating both Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs since the start of the season in September.

“Up to so far, I can say they [matches] are special matches that Polokwane City has played. I think we have treated them well,” Mohafe said via iDiski Times.

However, the former midfielder added to say the strongest team is TS Galaxy.

“I think it’s Sundowns, it’s Chiefs and it’s TS Galaxy, because Galaxy is a strong team, is a strong team, and it’s stronger than Chiefs and Sundowns, according to me.

“They are very difficult that team to beat. So, these three matches have been the mirror of what we are doing as the technical team of Polokwane City and as Polokwane City as a whole,” Mohafe concluded after the famous win over Kaizer Chiefs.
