DURBAN LONG-DISTANCE TAXIS TO RESUME OPERATING

KwaZulu-Natal Department of Transport MEC Sboniso Duma met with the taxi association on Saturday, following another engagement with all chairpersons of long-distance taxi associations last Thursday at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall.

Duma said that the department’s hearts are filled with millions of inconvenienced commuters from different parts of the province and the country.

“In particular, we know that many holidaymakers cannot wait to sample the smiles of the people of KwaZulu-Natal. In addition, some students, learners, workers, and relatives want to return home and spend time with their loved ones.

“We wish to inform the whole country that tomorrow (Sunday), everybody can use taxis. We have emerged from this meeting with a long-lasting solution,” Duma said.
