Orlando Pirates will reignite their PSL season when they play Stellenbosch on December 1.

The Buccaneers have enjoyed their best-ever start to the season, winning seven from seven, and have a shot to extend it to eight when they play the Cape Winelands outfit.

Their previous record was six successive wins to start the season, cementing the foundation for their 2002/03 PSL triumph.

Orlando Pirates are first in the league, three points ahead of reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns – the pair are yet to face each other.

Matuludi to Pirates?

According to SoccerLaduma, Orlando Pirates are hopeful in signing PSL sensation Thabang Matuludi, saying, “Yes, that’s true,

“Pirates need to strengthen their squad because there are many games that they need to play this season and with injuries and suspensions they need new players in the team and Thabang [Matuludi] is one of them. They have been pushing for this move even before they signed Deano Van Rooyen from Stellenbosch FC and now they are revisiting that interest as the January transfer window period is approaching.”

A second Siya source added, “The talks are believed to be going on and there could be players involved plus of course money to push for the move to happen. As things stand at the moment, Pirates stand a better chance of signing Matuludi compared to the other clubs which have also shown interest in the defender. The chances are very high for Pirates to sign him.”
