In response to the negativity, Zwai Bala defended himself in a recent interview with Drum and addressed the mixed reactions to his portrayal on the show stating, “It is not about being the eldest and wanting to tell people what to do or to control them in any way. I am definitely not a bully[..] I feel I am misunderstood a lot of the time by the public and the siblings just do not want to understand. I am not on some power trip, but I have apologised when I have seen that what I was trying to communicate was not received the way I intended.”
