Sipho Mbule’s participation in Sekhukhune United’s upcoming match against his parent club, Mamelodi Sundowns, is shrouded in uncertainty as the Tshwane giants often impose restrictions on loaned players.

Sekhukhune and Sundowns will lock horns for the first time this season on Saturday, 30 November, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria. The Betway Premiership clash is set to kick off at 8 PM.

Mbule, who joined Sekhukhune on a season-long loan from Sundowns at the start of the campaign is looking to revive his career in the SA elite league. The talented midfielder struggled to secure regular game time at Sundowns due to intense competition and injury setbacks.

Since moving to Sekhukhune, Mbule has established himself as a key player under coach Lehlohonolo Seema. He has made five appearances across all competitions. Mbule has scored one goal and walked away with a Man of a Match award.

Traditionally, Sundowns have implemented a policy that prohibits their loaned players from facing them.

However, this season, SuperSport United CEO Stan Matthews successfully negotiated an agreement with Sundowns, allowing goalkeeper Ricardo Goss to play against his parent club. This means Goss, who is currently on loan at SuperSport, will be eligible to face Sundowns.

Meanwhile, heading into the league match, both sides will be aiming to get back to winning ways after dropping points last time out.

Babina Noko suffered a 3-1 defeat against TS Galaxy in the league on Tuesday at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium. On the other hand, Masandawana were held to a frustrating 0-0 draw by Congo side AS Maniema Union. This was in Sundons’ CAF Champions League group stage opener on Tuesday at home.

On the log standings, Sundowns are second with 18 points after seven outings. They have won six matches and suffered one defeat. As for Sekhukhune United, they are seventh with 10 points after three victories, one draw and two defeats.
