The international trend of coffee raves has landed in South Africa, offering an upbeat twist to the usual sleepy-eyed coffee run.
Instead of silence and screens, these events offer live DJs, dancing, and a vibrant pre-work crowd, powered entirely by espresso and good vibes.
First made popular in major cities like Amsterdam, London, and New York, coffee raves have now made their way into local hotspots, with cafés like Nice Cafe in Cape Town leading the way.
TikTok creator Phano Liphoto recently went viral after sharing his first coffee rave experience:
“People are now starting to party before work over coffee,” he said in the video, as upbeat music pumped through the café.
