GABADINHO MHANGO LISTS THE BEST PSL DEFENDERS

Former Orlando Pirates attacker Gabadinho Mhango has played PSL football for 12 years. Who are the best defenders he has ever faced?

“It was a lot of defenders,” Mhango told iDiski Times. “Defenders like Tefu Mashamaite, [Eric] Mathoho, the likes [Siyabonga] Sangweni, the likes of Captain [Lucky] Lekgwathi from Orlando Pirates, [Matthew] Booth at Sundowns. There were a lot of players. Tyson [Hlatshwayo] when they were still playing at Wits, the time I was still at Celtic. It was like a lot of defenders. I can’t mention all the names, but there are a lot of defenders that gave me a tough time in football.

“But it was a good experience because, like I said, for now, it’s no longer the same football like it used to be those days. You know those days when you go to the pitch you could feel the pressure that you have, you could feel the pressure like, we’re going to meet those defenders again.

“We’re going to meet those Willard Katsandes. But nowadays, it’s no longer the same like before. Nowadays people are more easier, I’ll put it that way. They are easier nowadays, more defenders are like soft but before it used to be hard.”
