Fuel prices decreased for five successive months before November – now it’s back on the up.
News went from good to bad for Mzansi’s motorists, who, only a week ago, were forecasted to have petrol prices lowered, but recent projections suggest that won’t be the case.
Petrol 93, a type of unleaded petrol with an octane rating of 93, is the only variation of fuel whose price will subside; the rest – Petrol 95, Diesel 0.05 and Diesel 0.005 – are expected to rise.
What date will the prices increase?
The first Wednesday of each month is when fuel prices alter, meaning the upcoming shift will happen on December 4.
Tuesday (December 3) will be the last chance to fill up your vehicle at the current rate.

Will taxi prices keep rising?
In the midst of the five month fuel price drop, National Taxi Alliance spokesman Theo Malele said: “We are still, however, nowhere near profitable margins as a business, and this is due to the non-subsidy of the taxi industry.
“As we step into the public transport month of October, we urge and encourage people to leave their vehicles and help promote public transport to offset the environmental degradation through our deposit of carbon emissions to help safeguard the future of human beings.”
