Online shoppers are in for a treat this festive season after one retailer has pulled out all the stops to put smiles on the faces of their customers.
One of South Africa’s biggest grocery stores, Checkers has taken its renowned delivery services, Checkers Sixty60 to greater heights through the introduction of its new Jet ski delivery services.
This will ensure that customers get their hands on their order no matter where in the country they find themselves.
A recent video circulating on social media platforms of the new transporting option has set the internet abuzz. Many online users have expressed how impressed they are with how Checkers appears to be miles ahead of its competitors in terms of both marketing strategies, and their forward-thinking approach.
“Guys, I think pick ‘n pay is doomed. They can’t compete anymore,” commented one user.
Another added: “Checkers is killing it. I tried Woolies Dash; they only gave me a next-day delivery option. With Checkers I ordered and received within 30min. That’s unbeatable.”
The video shows a delivery guy operating a Jet ski covered in the turquoise colours of the shopping retailer with branding indicating who he works for while he attempts to deliver some groceries to a yacht positioned offshore at a Cape Town beach.

“Checkers will cross the ocean for you,” commented one user.
This is not the first time the retailer has surprised their fans. In October this year, they collaborated with newly launched airline, Lift to take the brand to the skies with a specially branded aeroplane which fully cements that they are omnipresent.
Meanwhile, the recently uploaded clip has had many social media users feeling slightly dissatisfied as nobody knows for sure whether the delivery man was able to successfully deliver the grocery package to its customers on the yacht.
