Venda FC coach Vladislav Heric has hailed the presence of ex-Kaizer Chiefs goal poacher Collins Mbesuma, who is now working with strikers at the club.

Mbesuma was recently roped in to help with the strike force after Venda FC’s poor start to the season

The club has only managed one goal in six matches since the start of the 2024/25 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.

Mbesuma has held the striker coach role at clubs such as Sekhukhune United and Pretoria Callies.

Heric, who also recently took over at the club, says Mbesuma’s influence is already being felt within the camp.

“We are very pleased to have Collins Mbesuma in our technical team,” Heric told FARPost.

“He was not only a good player, but he is also a good coach, especially for strikers. He has been showing them how to act inside the box or when they are outside, How to make movements inside the box and all those qualities.

“So besides the fact that he was one of the best we have, he is also an excellent coach. He is definitely adding much value for us, and as per the training, we can see that there is a difference already,” added Heric.

“But we need to prove on the field in the game. But thanks to Collins we are working very hard and precisely on the striking force. Hopefully, that will help us in the next couple of games.”

“It’s my first game at home, and I believe we will have a lot of supporters like never before. We need everybody to rally behind us because it’s very important.”

Venda beat Kruger United 1-0 in their last game in the league at Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The win was their first in the new season after seven games.
