A vehicle ended up on its roof on Glencairn Beach in Cape Town in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The driver sped through the intersection of Main and Glencairn Express Way around 02:03, smashing through the barriers, crossing over the train tracks and ended up on the beach.

Perfect visibility

According to unconfirmed reports, the driver escaped with a broken leg and/or arm.

At the time of publishing it’s unclear whether the driver was drunk. There was a Flower Full Moon on Monday evening so visibility should’ve been perfect.

Police were reportedly on the scene shortly after the incident took place.
