For many decades, celebrities from across the world have often spoken up about the difficulties of dealing with fame, and many have revealed that all that glitters is definitely not gold. South Africa’s biggest pop star Tyla has opened up about the difficulties of navigating the exponential fame she has garnered.

Despite dropping consecutive hits that have dominated in many countries, outselling her international shows, consistently serving looks and establishing herself as a young fashion icon, Tyla has not been exempt from the criticism and strict microscope that comes with superstardom. She has faced backlash on more than one occasion, specifically with the American demographic often being at the other end.

Speaking to the LA Times,Tyla expresses that outside of being a celebrity, she is also a young woman who is trying to navigate the world around her. Adapting to and assimilating into multiple unfamiliar cultures is no easy feat, and she reveals that she is learning along the way, while her blunders are on blast for the whole world to see and have an opinion on.

The candidness from the young star has garnered her much support, as users echo the sentiments that she is a young woman after all and highlighting the fact that Tyla is one of the few unproblematic celebrities who have managed to keep her name out of any scandal, excluding the American users who referred to her as an ‘Uppity African’.
