The PSL have revealed that Kaizer Chiefs’ Makabi Lilpeo was denied a goal during last week’s 2-2 draw with AmaZulu.

MAKABI LILEPO CREDITED WITH GOAL

As reported last week, Lilepo’s shot was parried into the net by Richard Ofori’s hands. The goal was marked as an own goal until an unannounced was made on Tuesday. According to Kaizer Chiefs, the PSL has reversed the decision as Lilepo’s goal.

“Kaizer Chiefs’ second goal against AmaZulu FC has been credited to Makabi Lilepo,” Amakhosi reported. The update means that the DR Congo start has two goals in three matches following his header against Stellenbosch FC last Friday.

TASHREEQ MORRIS TO KAIZER CHIEFS

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi was in desprerate need of a hold-up center forward. Enter Tashreeq Morris from SuperSport United.

As reported last month, the 30-year-old Morris left SuperSport to join Amakhosi, while Christian Saile went the opposite way to Matsatsantsa. How did SuperSport manage to accept the offer? “Tashreeq Morris came at the age of 31 and said ‘Kaizer Chiefs want me and this is what they have offered me’, and I couldn’t offer him half of what they offered him,” said SuperSport United chairman Stan Matthews via IDiski Times.

“So, should I have a miserable Tashreeq who resents the fact that he is somewhere because he could have been earning more than double elsewhere?

“He was out of contract [when he signed for United], so you look at the situation and say okay ‘how can I benefit the club, how can I benefit the team’. So, here’s a 31-year-old who I signed on a short-term contract, and we’ve got other number 9s like [Samir] Nurkovic and Bradley [Grobler].

“But I don’t have something like [Christian] Saile, who can get behind the defense, who can break the line, who’s got that added pace which Nurkovic and Bradley do not have.

“So, for me I’ve got to be practical. Now Morris, Bradley and Nurkovic together all three none of them had pace so I still got two 9s and now I’ve got someone who can go,” concluded Matthews.

WILL TASHREEW MORRIS HAVE A SUCCESSFUL CAREER AT AMAKHOSI?
