TOM CRUISE REMEMBERS HIS FRIEND
Cruise, 62, took the stage to honour his late friend and colleague, leading the audience in silence, according to Page Six.
“I’d like to honour a dear friend of mine, Val Kilmer,” Cruise began. “I can’t tell you how much I admire his work and how grateful I was when he joined Top Gun.
He brought so much to the film and later returned for Top Gun: Maverick. It was a privilege to work with him.”

Kilmer famously portrayed Tom ‘Iceman’ Kazansky, the rival-turned-ally of Cruise’s Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell in the original Top Gun (1986).

Despite losing his ability to speak due to throat cancer treatments, Kilmer reprised his role with the help of AI technology. It was a testament to his dedication and love for acting.
