Orlando Pirates legend Teboho Moloi believes the Buccaneers have what it takes to win the CAF Champions League this season.
The Sea Robbers last won the competition back in 1995 but came close in 2013 when they lost to Al Ahly 3-1 in the two-legged final. This season, the Soweto giants are unbeaten in the competition and currently top their group with two matches remaining.
Moloi, who won the CAF CL with Orlando Pirates back in 1995, the Buccaneers are officially ‘back’.
“They need to be prepared for anything thrown at them, be it from parking the bus. They must be in a resilience form to outsmart every opponent against them,” he told FARPost.
“Pirates need to adjust now; they need to adapt as they are one of the competitive teams. They are doing well in Africa, the message has been sent to Africa that Pirates is now back in Africa.

“The current team has rekindled the team in Africa. People should know that Pirates are back in those days when they won the Champions League,” Moloi added.
“I think the alarm bells have been ringing; they are going to be a difficult team to face. However, it won’t be an easy road for them in the competition.”
Orlando Pirates face CR Belouizdad at the Orlando Stadium this Sunday knowing that a win would guarantee them a place in the quarter-finals. A draw might be enough if Al Ahly loses against State d’Abidjan.
Can Pirates claim their second star this season?
