The highly anticipated fixtures for Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025, one of Africa’s most exciting and prestigious sports tournaments have officially dropped. Although excited, some Bafana Bafana fans have already started sweating as the competition is more intense than ever.
last year’s thrilling AFCON tournament proved to be one of the more exciting sports tournaments to take place in 2024. The competition was characterised by plenty of drama, action and unpredictable scorelines, sending Africa and the rest of the world into a frenzy. It also saw the formation of different affiliations as fans rooted or prayed for the demise of certain opponents, solely for the benefit of their team.
After all of this action, the build-up and anticipation for this year’s tournament have been through the roof as fans look to see whether AFCON will provide the same level of quality football as well as unforgettable entertainment. The revelation of the final fixtures has kicked things off to a great start as each country weighs their odds when looking at the opponents they are set to face in the group stage.
Bafana Bafana has been placed in group B, where they will be facing off against the likes of Egypt, Angola and Zimbabwe. At first glance, this group appears to be a fairly easy one to breeze through, however, after last year’s AFCON, as well as some performances following the tournament, mzansi fans appear to feel uneasy about their chances at advancing to the next round and eventually making it all the way and claiming the ultimate prize as champions.

For the first time in a long time, South Africans have revealed that the draw has and will not impact their overall outlook on the tournament, as they are confident in the work that coach Hugo and the team have and will put in to ensure that they will demolish any competition standing in the way of their much-wanted ultimate victory.

Bafana Bafana taking home the ultimate prize in Morocco would be a significant moment in sports history as it would be in the same country that Banyana Banyana took it all back in 2022.
