Fans of the prominent singer-songwriter Thabsie can now officially enter the festive season with something to smile about.

After a four-year absence, the singer has announced her return to music with the release of a brand new single titled, Same Place.

It has been a while since she has been in the limelight. This comes after she decided to take a break from making music when the entire world was filled with uncertainty during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In a recent interview with entertainment publication Citizen News, she revealed that this appeared to be just what she needed as it allowed her to explore and develop other parts of her craft.

“I initially took a break because of Covid, but I realised it was a great opportunity to expand my creative horizons and focus on content creation,” she told the publication.

Emphasising how necessary it was for her to take the break, she added:

“The break made me hungry to grow as a musician. It feels great to be back! The stage feels like home.”

In an interview with Drum, she revealed that during her hiatus she did some philanthropic work, nurtured her craft and explored the world by gathering experience which she could later infuse into her music with her newfound maturity.

Earlier this month she returned with the release of Same Place, a song she explains delves deep into the recent events in her life in recent years.

“I had so much self-doubt that kept me out of the music space for years. But this song is about resilience and overcoming and that resonates with me,” she told Citizen.
