Former Kaizer Chiefs winger has predicted Mamelodi Sundowns to beat Orlando Pirates for the league title.
The two teams are currently placed first and second in the Betway Premiership after seven rounds. The Buccaneers have won all seven matches so far and are three points ahead of the defending league Sundowns.
Despite their impressive start to the season, Khanye says Orlando Pirates lacks the experience to win the league and tipped Sundowns to claim another league title.
“It’s difficult to predict because pound for pound, the two teams are evenly matched. Personally for me. I will give it to Manqoba Mngqithi because he coaches players who have Champions League experience,” he said on iDiski TV.
Khanye says Orlando Pirates will lose to Sundowns
The title race could go down to the wire given how both teams have shown consistency in the past three months. Masandawana have experience but slipped up a few times this season under new coach Manqoba Mngqithi.
Khanye insists that Orlando Pirates will not beat Sundowns when the two teams face off twice next year.
“Home and away, Pirates will lose against Sundowns,” the ex-Chiefs star said. “The mindset and the experience of playing in Africa and winning the league for several seasons will help Sundowns in the title race. They have a strong eleven and also a strong second-string team which will play a huge role,” Khanye added.
“Sundowns will win the league by at least 10 points over Orlando Pirates. They will wrap up the league with two of three games to go.”
