The teams will meet again in the second leg at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium next Sunday.
Stellenbosch FC will have to do it the hard way if they are to reach the final of the CAF Confederation Cup.
This after they suffered a 1-0 loss to Simba SC in the first leg of their semifinal clash at Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Sunday.

Jean Charles Ahoua scored the only goal of the match through a free kick. There was some element of controversy around the goal as it looked like Denis Kibu, who was in an offside position interfered with play before the ball went into the net. But after checking it on the VAR system the referee allowed the goal to stand.
The hosts, who are led by South African coach Fadlu Davids, dominated possession and they created a lot of chances, but were guilty of missing good chances.
But they will go into the second leg at Durban’s Moses Mabhida Stadium next Sunday with a lot of confidence that they will go through to the final of the competition.

Stellenbosch didn’t create enough chances to at least get an away goal and they only had one shot on target the entire match.
Stellies tried to push hard for the equaliser in the second half, but they didn’t create enough goalscoring chances to grab it,
With Simba only managing to score one goal, Steve Barker’s team will fancy their chances of going through to the final when the teams meet again in Durban next Sunday.
