The Miss Universe pageant has announced that South Africa is one of seven countries in the running to host Miss Universe 2025. On the official Miss Universe Instagram the page, it was announced that there are seven countries that could potentially host the Miss Universe pageant in 2025.
South Africa aside, the other six countries are Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Spain, Thailand, Nigeria and Philippines. Take a look…

WHO IS REIGNING MISS UNIVERSE?
Victoria Kjær Theilvig is the reigning Miss Universe. She was crowned by Sheynnis Palacios in November 2024. Here’s five things to know about the blonde beauty.
The beauty queen is the first blond woman to be crowned Miss Universe in 20 years. The last blond Miss Universe was Jennifer Hawkins of Australia, crowned in 2004, as per US Weekly.
- Victoria is a professional dancer.
- She made history as the first Danish Miss Universe. Business Insider previously reported that it’s been 61 years since a contestant from the country had placed in the top five of the competition. She is the first Danish contestant to take home the crown in the pageant’s 73-year history.
- She runs her own jewellery business.
- She is an animal rights and welfare advocate. After being crowned Miss Universe Denmark, she visited a Danish animal protection organization to raise awareness for neglected animals.
