SOMIZI INSPIRES 1,800 LEARNERS IN KRUGERSDORP WITH ALL GOLD SCHOOL TOUR

Metro FM radio host and Sompire founder Somizi Mhlongo continues to impact young people’s lives through his creativity and passion for dance.

Mhlongo delivered a strong performance at Thuto Lefa Secondary School in Krugersdorp on Friday as part of the widely loved All Gold Dance Challenge campaign.

Mhlongo inspired and mentored aspiring young choreographers, offering valuable insights and encouragement. Renowned for his bold authenticity and dynamic style, Somizi guided learners on a transformative journey of dance, self-confidence, and storytelling.

Somizi has built an impressive career, having choreographed major events like Miss South Africa, the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and more. As a result, he remains a powerful force in the dance and entertainment world, continuing to influence and inspire across South Africa.

In an exclusive interview, he shared why this initiative holds a special place in his heart.

“Engaging with young people in a meaningful way is something I’m passionate about because they are the future. These kinds of activations create a space for creativity, self-expression, and learning outside the classroom. These are so important for their personal growth,” he said.

Speaking on the importance of education and mentorship, Somizi said, “Mentorship and education are key in shaping any young person’s future. It’s not just about academic learning but also about gaining life skills, confidence, and the right mindset.”

Through his involvement in the school tour, he encourages learners to channel their creativity into purpose-driven growth.

“This activation helps by inspiring learners to explore their creativity through dance while also instilling values like teamwork, dedication, and self-belief.”

When asked what advice he has for learners chasing their dreams, Somizi shared, “The most important thing is to believe in yourself. Talent alone isn’t enough; you need to be consistent, disciplined, and willing to learn. Surround yourself with people who uplift you, never be afraid to start small, and always be open to growth. Every great journey begins with a single step.”

As the school tour moves into Mamelodi, Sebokeng, and Orlando, Somizi continues to shine as more than a performer—he’s a mentor on a mission. His words and presence remind learners that their dreams are valid, their talent is enough, and their futures are bright.
