Shebeshxt to appear in court for a 2022 murder case

Controversial South African rapper Lehlogonolo Chauke, better known as Shebeshxt, is set to appear in the Lebowakgomo Regional Court on Thursday, 22 May.

The case has resurfaced at a time when the artist is already under public scrutiny following a recent incident that caused a stir on social media.

A video showing Shebeshxt threatening a fan with a large knife at an unidentified nightclub has been widely circulated online, prompting outrage among viewers.

The clip, which shows the rapper aggressively lunging toward a fan, has intensified concerns about his history of violent behaviour.

According to Sunday World, Shebeshxt is expected to appear in court for both a plea and trial related to the earlier attempted murder allegation.

The publication reported on Tuesday, 20 May, that the musician’s court date had been confirmed.

The resurfacing of this legal battle, paired with the disturbing nightclub video, has left many South Africans questioning the rapper’s conduct.
