Serious advice for new Kaizer Chiefs star

Siphesihle Ndlovu’s arrival at Kaizer Chiefs has been met with cautious optimism. The midfielder is preparing for what could be the most demanding chapter of his career.

After a solid stint at SuperSport United, Ndlovu joins a Kaizer Chiefs side undergoing a squad rebuild, aiming to re-establish its dominance in domestic and continental competitions.

Former Amakhosi coach, Farouk Khan, has warned that life at Naturena is unlike anything Ndlovu has faced before — with pressure, competition, and scrutiny at an entirely different level.

“I’ve seen players hit the ground running, then struggle once attention turns. Ndlovu must focus on daily work, not headlines,” Khan said via FARPost. “The expectations here are immense — every match, every performance is under the microscope.

“His addition to the midfield will give the team a more solid look. Ndlovu will need to compete with quality players like Yusuf Maart [Maart has since left to join SV Ried in Austria] and Sibongiseni Mthethwa — it’s not a given that he’ll walk straight into the starting XI.

“He’s versatile, can slot into multiple systems — that tactical intelligence will serve him well here. That trophy ended a decade of drought. The atmosphere is more demanding now, both teammates and fans expect silverware — that’s a mantle Ndlovu must adapt to.

“Given the schedule, travel and physical demands, players with his endurance are essential. Pressure at Chiefs is like nowhere else. For Ndlovu, it’ll be about handling scrutiny, staying grounded. The physical challenge is the easy part,” Khan concluded.
