The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has warned the public not to fall for imposters pretending to be SARS and sending threatening messages about spaza shop registration.

Unsuspecting taxpayers
Meanwhile, as previously reported by The South African website, SARS has warned the public regarding fraudsters sending emails to unsuspecting taxpayers and businesses pretending to be SARS employees.
The emails typically contain an attachment with a link where one can ‘settle an outstanding balance or debt’.
A real SARS employee’s name and contact details appear on the email signature, but if you look closely the email domain is different.
