While promoting Bong Joon-ho’s sci-fi epic, Mickey 17, Pattinson took a daring plunge into Korean street food. The result? Laughter, sweat, and a moment that’s gone viral online.

The adventure began at a cosy eatery in Yongsan, Seoul, where Pattinson joined Bong for a casual meal, according to the Korea Herald.

Cameras captured Pattinson confidently digging into a plate of tteokbokki, the iconic spicy rice cakes.

He didn’t know that the staff had cheekily swapped the mild version for the fiery “very spicy” option. Moments later, the actor was red-faced and sweating.

“I’m such a baby, I’m sweating already,” he laughed, gulping water and grinning through the spice-induced tears.

Fans loved it. One Twitter user joked, “Bong killed him 17 times on screen and almost finished him off with chilli!”

A day earlier, he tried South Korea’s trending personal colour analysis test. The seemingly routine session ended with a fun twist, a final colour sheet announcing the next Mickey 17 trailer.

Pattinson’s trip also included a surprise appearance on the beloved variety show, Running Man, according to Daum.

According to the show’s producers, the cast stumbled upon him while filming in Seoul. Pattinson gamely joined the fun, much to the delight of fans.

The episode is set to air on 9 February.

Speaking to reporters during a press event at Yongsan CGV, Pattinson shared his excitement about working with Bong, according to Deadline.

The South Korean press tour marks the beginning of a global campaign for Mickey 17. The film will premiere in Korea on 28 February.
