“But like I said many times before, I just came here to try to do my best to help my club,” said Riveiro.
Outgoing Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has expressed gratitude towards his fellow colleague Phuti Mohafe of Polokwane City.

“Even though that is out of my league, I can say he has done a massive job there. Winning six or five cups in three seasons is not child’s play. Winning a cup every season is not child’s play, so he has contributed massively to our league,” Mohafe told the media after his side’s 1-0 loss to Pirates in a Betway Premiership match played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.
Responding to Mohafe’s praise during his post-match conference, Riveiro
“Thank you Phuti, thank you coach. Obviously for us as coaches, when you get recognition from our colleagues, I think it’s the best one you can get from your own players and your colleagues, and it’s something to appreciate,” Riveiro said.
“But like I said many times before, I just came here to try to do my best to help my club, to help my team to get better. To improve, to go to a better place, at a better level together with the coaching and support staff and so far, I think we have done a good job.I will leave it at that.
“Then, it’s for the people to evaluate what we do each and every day for the club and these players.
“And indirectly, for the South African football as well, is where we are and like I said, I’m just trying to do my job as good as I can with dedication, with passion and the consequence of that is to get good results, So yeah, thanks coach (Phuti Mohafe) and thanks to the fans as well. They have been showing me love and happiness in recent days,” added Riveiro.
