In a statement, Capital Live SA 99.0 FM confirmed the deaths of its founder and journalist Aserie Ndlovu and his partner Zodwa Mdhluli after weeks of uncertainty and hope.

The radio station said the couple’s remains were discovered on Thursday morning in the KwaMhlanga area in Mpumalanga, at an advanced stage of decomposition.

“Following a thorough investigation, the forensic team has positively identified both Ndlovu and Mdhluli and confirmed that they were brutally murdered and dumped in a veld. Regarding the two suspects, South African Police Service (SAPS) national spokesperson Brigadier Athlenda Mathe said police believe the pair may have played a role or have information on the alleged kidnapping and killing of the couple.

Mathe said while tracking teams are on the ground searching for the pair, the two suspects are also advised to voluntarily hand themselves over.

“Communities who may know their whereabouts or may have any information are advised to contact the investigating officer in this case, Lieutenant Colonel Maboko on 0720302794‎‎. Sello Uoane is currently out on parole for rape,” Mathe said.
