WHO IS GOING TO COACH ORLANDO PIRATES NEXT SEASON?
Following the club’s announcement that Jose Riveiro is departing at the end of the season, speculations have sparked to life. According to Soccer Laduma, Riveiro’s fitness assistant, Carlos Nodar Paz is considered by Orlando Pirates.
“While Pirates are expected to launch a thorough process to appoint a new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season, insiders have revealed that continuity could play a key role in that decision,” the outlet reported.
“Among those being considered is Paz, Riveiro’s compatriot, who joined the club at the beginning of the current season. Although his role is primarily fitness-focused he is no stranger to coaching, having previously worked as an assistant coach and youth coach in various parts of the world.
“His coaching journey includes stints at Spanish side Celta de Vigo alongside Riveiro, as well as ventures in India with East Bengal FC and in China with Wukan Three Towns FC,” the note added.

In the meantime, Mosimane has been home in South Africa as a free agent since leaving Esteghlal FC in December 2024. Mosimane, a former Orlando Pirates player in his active days, is the Premier Soccer League’s greatest-ever coach with a record five league titles. Mosimane is also Africa’s greatest with a record of three CAF Champions League titles.
Another former Orlando Pirates coach, Rulani Mokwena, has been linked with the Sea Robbers. The current Wydad Casablanca coach and his agent recently confirmed that Mokwena will be leaving the Moroccan giants at the end of the season.
