Today’s Monday Orlando Pirates transfer wrap looks at a few new targets and the future of Evidence Makgopa.
Orlando Pirates target Nemtajela
According to iDiski Times, Orlando Pirates proactively seek long-term replacements for Makhehlene Makhaula and Miguel Timm. 24-year-old Masindi Nemtajela is in focus. The Marumo Gallants man has featured 13 times this season and is seen as a natural successor to the aforementioned pair.
Makgopa to consider his options?
Although Makgopa’s industry, relentless pressing and work ethic see him start the occasional big game or cup finals, Tshegofatso Mabasa has become the first-choice striker in league games. Makgopa started both of Pirates’ Caf Champions League quarter-final clashes with MC Alger, but was on the bench for the semi-final first leg against Pyramids. He’d love to be more involved in the bread and butter of the Betway Premiership; 24-year-old Makgopa has appeared 17 times in the league but mostly as a substitute.
Three players who could leave Pirates
Have Pirates found their new manager?
Rulani Mokwena is the favourite to replace Jose Riveiro as head coach of Orlando Pirates, according to The Citizen.
“Yes, it’s true that Pitso’s name had come up in the management meetings and was the leading candidate to replace Riveiro, but that changed since Wydad announced that they will release Mokwena at the end of the season. He is now the leading candidate,” said a source.
Would you be sad to see Makgopa leave Orlando Pirates?
