Orlando Pirates are preparing an audacious cash-plus-players offer to sign an exciting new Bafana Bafana star. Will they pull it off amid offers for their other top players?

Orlando Pirates want Bafana star Kwayiba

Jose Riveiro’s MTN8 winners will offer midfield duo Goodman Mosele and Siphelo Baloni as makeweights to sign Bafana Bafana and Chippa breakout star Sinoxolo Kwayiba.

“Pirates are the ones who have moved faster in trying to acquire the services of Sinoxolo (Kwayiba). The technical team has been impressed so far with what they have seen from the player and that’s why they want to involve a player exchange to influence the deal. It could be money plus players involved. But what I can tell you is that Pirates are in the forefront to get him,” the insider told SoccerLaduma.

“As for Baloni he is currently at Chippa on loan from Pirates while Mosele is recovering from injury though the club has indicated that they would be willing to loan him out. So those are the players that Pirates believe they will use to persuade Chippa for the services of Sinoxolo (Kwayiba),” they added.

Pirates’ next six fixtures

The Sea Robbers must wait next weekend to resume their quest to win the Betway Premiership. They’ve started with three wins from three, so the signs are good. Upcoming are three league fixtures on the bounce and then a tricky trip to Algeria where they could be on a collision course with former Cape Town City man Khanyisa Mayo. Caf Champions League holders Al Ahly visit Orlando Stadium in early December in a crunch group clash which you simply can’t miss.

Saleng wanted in Europe

Orlando Pirates hope to command a massive fee for 26-year-old winger Monnapule Saleng, who has started 2024-2025 in sparkling form. Belgian Jupiter Pro League side Standard Liege are reported to be interested in the 2022-2023 PSL Player of the Season. This follows interest from France’s Ligue 1:

“It’s not like the interest died off. It is just that last season he was not playing much so it was hard for the teams interested in him to monitor his progress but they were checking what was going on. Now, since he is back in the thick of things, the interest has arisen again”, an anonymous source told Soccer Laduma.

“It’s Standard Liege that has shown interest. Actually, last season, they were also interested in Mohau Nkota while Monaco SC were interested in Saleng. So, now it is believed that the Standard Liege scouts are looking at Saleng since Nkota has not been playing much since his promotion”, they concluded.
