Orlando Pirates will need to get used to big offers for some of their best players. There are none better than Relebohile Mofokeng.

Orlando Pirates star Mofokeng wanted in Egypt

According to SoccerLaduma, Orlando Pirates rejected a massive R25.8 million deadline-day offer from Zamalek for 20-year-old superstar winger Relebohile Mofokeng. The Bafana youngster has become a talismanic figure for the Sea Robbers, churning out 10 goals and 11 assists already this term across all competitions.

Broos wants the best for Mofokeng

Speaking to iDiskiTimes, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is concerned that Relebohile Mofokeng might make the wrong choice for his future with several top sides hovering to sign him from Pirates.

“Talking about Mofokeng, I just hope that he makes the right decisions. And that he is not going to a team where he won’t play.

“I see all the things around, Barcelona and Rangers and… (sighs) I’m a little bit afraid. I just hope that the people around make the choice of the best sportive solution and not the best financial solution,”

“Okay, I think his parents want the best for him, that’s for sure. But there is another guy who wants to win a lot of money also, but that’s the problem. But ok, let’s hope, maybe I talked too soon about that,

“We’ll see. I think in June, Rele will not be a player of Orlando Pirates anymore, but a good choice is very important.”

Is there any way back for Saleng?

One fan in the comments section of an article on this publication had this to say, and he’s not the only one expressing these sentiments:

“Terminate his contract and let him go for free. Enough is enough.”

Is Saleng’s situation comparable to Mesut Ozil’s at Arsenal?

Mesut Özil was one of the most talented playmakers and prolific assist-creators of his generation. When he signed for Arsenal from Real Madrid in 2013 for €47 million, Gunners fans around the world thought of it as a watershed moment. Özil certainly produced a string of brilliant performances and moments, but his career in London faded out to the extent that he was sitting on the bench as an unused substitute despite being the club’s highest earner. Talk about a waste of resources. The reason for his exodus wasn’t disclosed but the consensus was that the talented German fell out with manager Unai Emery, the man who replaced the iconic figure of Arsène Wenger.
