Orlando Pirates lose key technical team member BUT…

Orlando Pirates have lost a key member of their technical team in Devon O’Brien due to personal reasons.

O’Brien was the club’s performance analyst, and had joined Pirates from Stellenbosch FC at the start of the season.

While personal reasons were cited as the main issue, O’Brien is reportedly set for a ‘new journey’ in Cape Town, according to iDiski Times.

Now, while Pirates may saddened by the sudden departure of O’Brien, it looks like that had already prepared for it.

And that’s because they have already roped in O’Brien’s former colleague at Stellies in Ruan Rust.

The South African reported this week that Rust had already arrived at Pirates as their Head of Performance.

ORLANDO PIRATES LOSE PERFORMANCE ANALYST O’BRIEN

“Orlando Pirates performance analyst Devon O’Brien has left the club due to personal reasons,” reads part of the report.

“This publication has been reliably informed that the former Stellenbosch performance analyst left Pirates, as he is set for a new journey in Cape Town for something else.

“It is also believed personal reasons played a part in the O’Brien decision against staying at the club.”

WILL O’BRIEN’S DEPARTURE BE FELT?
