Orlando Pirates hit with harsh truth about Monnapule Saleng

Orlando Pirates have yet to accept Monnapule Saleng’s demands, prolonging the 27-year-old’s return.

The former PSL Player of the Year hasn’t kicked a ball for the Buccaneers since their CAF Champions League clash on December 7 after negotiations went sour; Saleng, who earns R70,000 per week, won’t play until his wish is granted.

The Sea Robbers approach has reportedly affected Saleng mentally; “He’s not happy with how he has been treated by Pirates,” a source revealed.

“He feels he deserves better, especially considering what he has done for the club. Even this season, he was performing well before everything changed. He just wants a fair deal from Pirates, that’s all.”

New attackers inbound?

Orlando Pirates tried to sign Cape Town City youngster in January – they might just land him the offseason.

“He (Rhodes) has been one of their (Pirates’) targets for some time now,” SoccerLaduma confirmed.

“They have been monitoring him though there hasn’t been much happening. They were targeting him for the January transfer window period.

“Now that it didn’t happen they have more time to work on it and will see what happens in the next window. But they are interested in him. That I can tell you.”
