Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has shown his gratitude to the club management for allowing him to reunite with his ‘brother’ Cedric Kaze.
Chiefs recently announced Kaze as the new assistant coach to Nabi.
The pair worked together at Tanzanian side Young Africans where they won two league titles and reached the final of the CAF Confederation Cup. Kaze has been roped in following the sudden departure of Fernando Da Cruz.
The man who holds a Bachelor of Sport Science degree, CAF and German Football Federation A licenses was not able to sit on the bench when Chiefs defeated SuperSport United 4-0 in the Carling Knockout Last 16 match in Polokwane on Saturday evening.
This is because the club is finalising some paperwork before the Burundi-born coach can sit on the bench.

“This is my brother. Cedric Kaze is my second assistant; we worked together at Young Africans,” said Nabi.
“We won too many trophies with Young Africans. Very good moments and sometimes bad moments. He is a good guy with a big experience and too many skills.
“I thank Mr Kaizer [Motaung] Jr and Mr Bobby [Motaung] for giving me the opportunity for Kaze to come,” he said.
“I am very happy. He is a very good guy, a gentleman, and a very good coach. I am very happy about that.”
KAIZER CHIEFS SECURE A SPOT IN THE CARLING KNOCKOUT QUARTER-FINALS
Chiefs walloped SuperSport United 4-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening to go through to the quarter-finals of the Carling Knockout. Coach Nabi has singled out goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari for what he says are saves that were vital during the match.
“It’s a good victory. But we also need to congratulate Fiacre [Ntwari]. He made some good saves that could have allowed the opponents to get back into the game. But in those critical moments, he made the saves that we needed. But it’s also the work of the entire team, all the players who were on the pitch.”
