Nabi on how Kaizer Chiefs can end their trophy drought

Kaizer Chiefs have not won a trophy in nearly 10 years but Nasreddine Nabi has a plan to end their trophy drought.

Since taking over in July, the Tunisian has made key changes to the team. With seven players signed for this season, Amakhosi have looked promising and are one of the best five teams in the league currently.

Last weekend, Kaizer Chiefs dumped SuperSport United 4-0 in the Carling Knockout Cup in what many described as the club’s best performance of the season.

“We are happy that the fans are happy with the results, but we are still far away from where we want to be,” said Nabi.

“We are in a period of building, and it will take a lot of time, but even in that period of building, we need to get the results to keep the club going forward.

“We are aware of the fact that in the future it might happen that we go through difficult moments, but we know our strategy and how we want our team to play, and we hope the support will still be there,” the Tunisian added as per GOAL.

On Saturday, Amakhosi face off against Matsatsantsa once again looking to maintain their dominance over their rivals. Nabi though says his team is still in transition.

“This season is a period of transition from one step to another step.

“There will be difficult steps, but we take one game at a time, and we will do everything to make the supporters happy and get a positive result in every game we play,” said the Kaizer Chiefs coach.
