Five weeks into its third season, The Mommy Club remains Showmax’s most-streamed reality series of 2025. The Johannesburg-based cast ignited social media like never before.
THE MOMMY CLUB’S NEW ARRIVALS
While new arrivals Mrs J, Noksie, Pheladi, and Vuyi bring fresh drama, reality TV icon Mrs Mops has stepped into a friend role, according to Showmax Stories. This is a move that’s left fans buzzing.
The OG cast member, known for her sharp wit and unapologetic honesty, revealed her decision stems from a desire to prioritise her business, Nala Reign, and family.
“Reality TV is time-consuming,” she admits. “This season, I’m focusing on growing my brand and being a boss babe – but The Mommy Club will always be home.”
MRS MOPS BOWS OUT
Mrs Mops fondly recalls the chaos of filming: “The crew became family. My kids loved them – mainly for the snacks!”
She misses the adrenaline of preparing for scenes but acknowledges the challenges of reliving vulnerable moments on-screen.
“Watching yourself in tough spots can be brutal,” she admits. “But it’s part of the journey.”
FORMING BONDS
Despite the drama, Mrs Mops treasures the bonds forged on the show.
“We’ve had ups and downs, but we always come together as women, wives, and moms. The bond is real.” Her advice to current cast members? “Be yourself. Authenticity is key in reality TV.”
While Mrs Mops hints at “big projects” in the pipeline, the spotlight now shines on newcomers like Mrs J, according to Showmax Stories.
She is a sangoma, church owner, and mother of three – who’s already making waves with her blend of spirituality and glamour.
RETURNING CAST
Meanwhile, Hermajesty and Mrs Sande continue to anchor the show’s trademark opulence and rivalry.
Beyond Johannesburg, the Mommy Club empire now spans three cities:
THE MOMMY CLUB UNIVERSE
- Durban’s Sugar & Spice: A spin-off exploring Durban’s Indian community.
- Pretoria’s Van Die Hoofstad: A new Afrikaans-focused series following five women navigating parenting and prestige in Jacaranda City.
The show’s success lies in its unfiltered look at motherhood, wealth, and identity, according to IOL.
A CULTURAL PHENOMENON
As Mrs Mops sums up her time: “It’s been life-changing – introducing me to people and experiences that shaped me.”
With new episodes dropping every Saturday, fans can expect more drama, more glamour, and more of the unapologetic energy that’s made The Mommy Club a cultural phenomenon.
“I’ll always stay connected to the community,” she vows. “The show will always be a part of me.” For now, though, she’s ready to slay the business world – and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
