SA coaches Pitso Mosimane and Rulani Mokwena had a bad day at the office, as their respective teams lost, while Bafana Bafana international Mihlali Mayambela registered an assist.

On the other hand, SA exports Cassius Mailula and Luke Le Roux also faced disappointment in their respective league matches.

Pitso Mosimane’s tenure as Esteghlal FC head coach got off to a rocky start with a narrow 1-0 defeat to Kheybar FC on Saturday. This result left Esteghlal languishing in 12th place in the league standings, with two wins, two draws, and four losses from their opening eight matches.

Rulani Mokwena’s Wydad AC also suffered a setback, losing 1-0 to RS Berkane on Saturday. This defeat leaves Wydad AC sixth in the league, with three wins, two draws, and three losses from their eight matches.

MIHLALI MAYAMBELA GRABS AN ASSIST FOR ARIS LIMASSOL IN THE LEAGUE

Bafana Bafana attacker Mihlali Mayambela continued his impressive form for Aris Limassol, providing an assist in their 2-1 victory over Nea Salamis in the Cypriot top-flight league on Saturday.

This win extended Limassol’s unbeaten streak to eight matches, solidifying their position at the top of the league table with 20 points.

Meanwhile, South African exports Luke Le Roux and Cassius Mailula faced mixed fortunes. Le Roux’s IFK Varnamo suffered a 2-1 defeat to Norrkoping, while Mailula’s RS Berkane lost 1-0 to a late goal. The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker came on as a second-half substitute but couldn’t prevent his team’s loss.
