Inapowerfulandemotionalstatementsharedonsocialmedia,themediapersonalitymadeitclearthattheso-calledapologywasn’tnearlyenough.
“Overthepastfewweeks,Ihavewatchedindisbeliefanddeeppainasmyname,body,anddignityweredraggedthroughthemud,”Minniesaid.
SheemphasizedthatshehadneverspokennegativelyaboutMacG,onlydefendedanotherwomanfromdegradingremarks.
Minniewentontocalloutthecultureofmisogynyintheindustry.
“Thereisnothingentertainingorprovocativeaboutweaponizingawoman’sbodyforclout,”shewrote.
Althoughsheacknowledgedreceivingalegalapology,shedismisseditashollowandreactive,saying, “Wordswithoutgenuineaccountabilityarehollow.”
TheTVstarconfirmedshewillbepursuinglegalaction,notjustforherselfbutforallwomenwhohavebeendegradedinthenameofcontent.
“Iwillnotallowthistopasswithoutconsequence,”sheconcluded. “It’snotjustaboutmyname,it’saboutprotectingthedignityofwomeneverywhere.”
