Michael Bolton, the 71-year-old singer, has cancelled his upcoming London concert as he continues to recover from brain surgery.

The news comes after Bolton’s announcement in January 2024 that he had a brain tumour requiring immediate surgery.

Bolton was scheduled to perform at London’s O2 Arena on 5 July.

However, he shared an update on his Instagram Story on Friday, 7 February. He stated that he needs more time to heal, according to People.

All tickets will be refunded automatically.

“You all know how much I was looking forward to this show but I am continuing to heal from surgery,” Bolton wrote on Instagram.

He also expressed gratitude to his fans for their support. “Thank you for all your love and positive energy over this past year.

I am so grateful to have the most supportive fans in the world,” he added.

In late 2023, doctors discovered the brain tumour. Bolton underwent immediate surgery. Following the procedure, he took a temporary break from touring to focus on his recovery, according to The Standard.

In a Facebook post in January 2024, Bolton shared, “Just before the holidays, doctors discovered that I had a brain tumour, which required immediate surgery”

“Thanks to my incredible medical team, the surgery was a success. I am now recuperating at home and surrounded by the tremendous love and support of my family,” he continued.

Bolton’s health challenges led to the cancellation of several concerts in October. At the time he said he was “just not quite 100% yet”.

Despite the setbacks, Bolton remains optimistic. Over the holiday season, he shared a festive family photo on Facebook, wishing his fans a happy new year, according to The Los Angeles Times.

“Sending warm wishes for a holiday season filled with peace, love, and joy. May the New Year bring health, happiness, and countless moments to cherish,” he wrote.
