Mia Le Roux to reveal national costume at AFI Cape Town Fashion week

South Africans will soon get a glimpse of the national costume Miss SA 2024 winner Mia Le Roux was scheduled to wear at the Miss Universe pageant.

This was revealed by the Miss South Africa organisation. Mia had to withdraw from the 73rd Miss Universe pageant due to suffering from severe vertigo before she could parade in her national costume.

Taking to their Instagram page to break the news, the organisation said: “We’re excited to announce that Mia Le Roux will reveal her Miss Universe national costume at the AFI Cape Town Fashion Week: The Edit Spring/Summer 2024.

Mia shared her thoughts, stating: “Countless hours of work went into these two one-of-a-kind, magnificent pieces, and I cannot wait to wear them proudly and share them with the rest of the world, as well as the story behind them.”

Miss SA will make her appearance on Saturday, 30th of November at 1pm, ahead of the exclusive AFI PRIVE show. The tickets are available in different categories, the link is on the organisation’s bio.

Instagram users weighed in on the comment section.

One user said: “She needs to save it for Miss Supranational.”

Another one said: “Everything is really so weird for all of us following beauty contests for years. The national costume is usually revealed before Miss SA leaves for Miss Universe. Too little too late, sorry.”

Mia had reveled earlier that she sought medical help while in Mexico City, but her condition was not improving. She also said that she was prepared mentally to compete in the Miss Universe pageant, however, physically her body was taking a lot of strain.
