The inception and ever-progressing nature of technology and social media has given rise to the most creative ways to express oneself, and memes have become one of the most popular ways to do so. We often see the faces of strangers shared across multiple platforms and the world, however, how often do you think of the faces and people behind these memes?

The list below consists of the faces of some of Mzansi’s most popular ‘unknown’ faces, who have circulated across countless phones

1. Siyabonga Makhavhu

Although her name might not ring a bell, Siyabonga’s face is a familiar one across Mzansi after she blew up following an appearance on the popular SABC 1 TV show ‘Speak Out’. It is on this show where Siyabonga trended for her ‘Where are the pots?” saga as she found herself in deep trouble over a catering mishap.
